Quicksmiles was the 5th or 6th orthodontic consultation I had in 2024. I'm decisive misunderstood as choosy, okay? I decided to go with QS because: #1, price was indeed... read more the best. #2 I was impressed with the consultation with Maddie. Competent and knowledgeable. Succinct. Knows the powah of friendship and teamwork. Office, clean. Mood, peaceful. So I thought, perhaps I could rely on these people. Please take care of me, thank you! Then it was time to put on my very first aligner and on a comfort/discomfort scale from 1 to 10, I was at like 8 and, at least on my scale, 8 is not that far from cacti needles in your undies. I started having buyer's remorse. "Oh no what I have I done? Hey Self, why did I volunteer to torture myself again?" (Anna did great putting on the buttons though. I had cleaning done recently and was still tad sensitive and she gave me heads up before water and air usage so I can brace myself and not take a critical hit. Sour glue was the worst part though Is there unflavored one?) Maddie seems to read my mind and reassured me that one gets used it rather quick. I left her pink promise hanging though because I have deep seated trust issues. Then I remember that, why yes, I'm a jolly and it would be worth it simple from the sheer number of uses I would get out of it! Literally. Brilliant. Y'know? I sincerely expected 2 weeks to get used to it. It took 2 days. Muscle memory, maybe? I'm now at 2.5/10 on the scale. Perfectly manageable :D Not all positives though. Does she know? Did no one tell Maddie? Oh no. Yikes. Welp it sucks that I have to be the one to say but it's the truth... She a dork. Who says "Ouch!" when they pinch their finger? Last time I heard someone say ouch was like 15 years ago from "Charlie bit me" video. And she has this weird laugh like if you accidentally stepped on a squeaky toy at night. At first you're startled but then immediate recognition of what it is provides relief. I say it's not fair to make people ride the waves like that with single syllable. Out and about, I laughed like that the other day on accident and they thought I was being sarcastic! Bad influence I say. Good thing they give you bunch of aligners to go home with for less frequent office visits. I also like that aligners are weekly. Transitioning to next aligner feels smoother compared to monthly ones. Oh no, I could almost hear her, "HAa!!"
